The Children’s Department of the Winchester Community Library is located on the second floor of the library. Books for reading abilities of birth through 6th grade are available for check out in areas including picture books, easy leveled reading, junior fiction, non-fiction, audiobooks, graphic novels and Spanish picture books and Spanish junior fiction. The children’s department has two computers pre loaded with educational games, available to play while visiting our floor. There are also two play areas, a toy corner for imaginative play and our game room where children can build with Legos or play board games.

Summer Reading Program

Plan ahead for the Summer Reading Program! The library holds a Summer Reading Program each year for children ages pre-school through fifth grade.

Getting a Library Card

Children who live in Ward or White River townships can get a library card when accompanied by a parent with proof of address. Students who are enrolled in the Randolph Central School Corporation but reside in Franklin Township may get a library card at no charge. They must show proof of enrollment in one of the schools in the Randolph Central School Corporation. Proof of enrollment may include report cards, book rental receipts, or IDs. These student cards will expire after twelve months, but may be renewed with a new proof of enrollment.
